Singing - Voices Unplugged
“For thousands of years all over the world people have sung – to express joy, celebration and grief, to accompany work and devotion, to aid healing – without worrying about having a ‘good’ voice or ‘getting it right’. Song has been a part of life, a way of binding the community together. Singing and singing together is natural and open to all”.

VOICES UNPLUGGED with Jane Wells in Spalding, Lincolnshire
This is a friendly and well-established singing group that generally meets for 14 sessions during the autumn and winter terms on Saturday afternoons. At the end of this run of workshops the group is normally involved in contributing to an informal concert. In March 2012 this was shared with the Spalding Grammar School's Rhythm and Blues Band at Gosberton Church when just under £400 was raised for good causes.
There is often a summer singing day with a guest teacher that is also an opportunity for new people to meet regular members of Voices Unplugged as well as to have a fun day out. In 2012 this will take the form of an informal SUMMER SINGING SOCIAL and will take place from 3-7pm at the Church Hall in Pinchbeck. Please contact Jane by email for further information.
The group welcomes old and new adult members – female and male - alike. Songs, in a mix of unaccompanied folk, pop and world music styles, are taught ’by ear’. So no need to read music - just a desire to flex those vocal cords and to gradually improve own singing as part of the group. It’s fun and the breathing is health-giving too!
The group is run by a small voluntary committee and regular sessions take place at either the Methodist Hall or the South Holland Centre in the centre of Spalding. Upcoming dates for autumn 2012 are:
At Broad Street Methodist Hall:
22nd Sept; 6th & 20th Oct; 24th Nov; 8th Dec.
At South Holland Centre:
10th Nov.
Saturdays 2.30-4.30pm
£4 per session from the South Holland Centre box office 01775 764777
