Singing - Sing Your Heart Out!

"For thousands of years all over the world people have sung – to express joy, celebration and grief, to accompany work and devotion, to aid healing – without worrying about having a ‘good’ voice or ‘getting it right’. Song has been a part of life, a way of binding the community together. Singing and singing together is natural and open to all”.

Natural Voice Practitioners Network

Sing Your Heart Out is a series of singing workshops (not a choir!) designed to get people together to enjoy themselves and to gain the known benefits to mental health from singing. There are currently three series of workshops running in different parts of Norfolk under the musical direction of Chrissy Parsons West. Jane co-directs Sing Your Heart Out West with Chrissy and also assists both as singing leader and keyboard accompanist for one-off special events that take place from time to time around the County.

The next Sing Your Heart Out West workshops will run in a set of six on Thursday afternoons in King’s Lynn. Anyone can join to sing - present or past users of Norfolk Mental Health Services, their families and friends, carers and supporters – anyone who wants to enjoy themselves….. No experience or special talent is needed and all the music is learned by listening and repeating. A great repertoire of songs ranges across different styles and cultures. New singers are always welcome at the workshops – just come along!
